Lu Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jing’an District Committee and Chief Executive of Jing’an District Government, and Zhou Haiying, Deputy Executive of Jing’an District Government, attended the opening ceremony.
In his speech, Lu Xiaodong noted that as the last large-scale commercial complex in West Nanjing Road Commercial Zone, HKRI Taikoo Hui would create more spotlights and highlights for building Jing’an District into the “Demonstration District of International Consumer City” by further improving commercial ecological structure of West Nanjing Road Commercial Zone and enhancing its influence and attraction in terms of power and scale; and Jing’an District Government and related departments would continue their efforts in providing services for HKRI Taikoo Hui and settled brands and enterprises.
The reporter learned that, located on West Nanjing Road, the core commercial zone of Shanghai, HKRI Taikoo Hui, growing out of Dazhongli, the largest Shikumen building complex in Shanghai, comprises a lifestyle shopping mall, two class-A office buildings, two boutique hotels, a serviced apartment and an European-style building with 100-year long history, “Cha’s Residence”, with a total investment exceeding RMB 17 billion, making itself another fashion landmark on West Nanjing Road following the “Golden Triangle” formed by Plaza 66, Citic Square and Westgate Mall and the “Golden Star” near Jing’an Temple.
22 brands’ premiere in Shanghai
Covering a total area of 100,000 square meters, HKRI Taikoo Hui shopping mall has converged over 250 brands covering categories from fashion, cosmetics, accessories, recreation, catering and so on, with some brands entering Shanghai, even China for the first time. As the reporter has learnt, there are 8 brands starting operation in China for the first time and 22 brands firstly launched in Shanghai. Currently, the brand occupancy rate in HKRI Taikoo Hui has reached 93% with over 80% stores in operation.
Since the pre-opening kicking off in May this year, popular brands, such as city'super with a floor area over 4,000 square meters, SpaceCycle flagship store integrating music, technology and entertainment, NIO (the smart electric car brand ) flagship store and the second Disney Store in China providing China limited series designed by local designers, have started business one after another. And the first Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room in Asia attracting wide attention will be unveiled in December.
It is worth mentioning that HKRI Taikoo Hui has specially opened a “Cosmetics Avenue” to provide space for all-round and multiform cosmetic and skincare brands. Stores of over 20 cosmetic and skincare brands are opened on “Cosmetics Avenue”, including CHA LING, a sub-brand of LVMH from France, opening flagship store in Mainland China for the first time, Atelier Cologne, the salon perfume brand of France and Natura Bisse, the national-treasure level brand of Spain. Therein, there are also 6 stores featuring in SPA.
Create a new lifestyle space showing “Dandy-like” lifestyle
Since the pre-opening, adhering to the concept of “Dandy-like” lifestyle, HKRI Taikoo Hui has held successively Common Rare×Nike fair, PUMA “NETFIT, start running now experiencing hall”, Lancome “Voice of Happiness” themed exhibition, cosmetic workshop and “Shoes: an exhibition of happiness and bitterness” premiere exhibition in Asia to claim the new “Dandy-like” lifestyle and consumption idea through diverse and random collocation of stores of different categories and business modes in both time and space dimension, bringing more life surprises for people pursuing fashion and building a new city landmark with multiform business modes.
At the press conference, the reporter learned that from November, HKRI Taikoo Hui will launch the sharing platform, SPOTLIGHT interactive workshop, with joint efforts from YOHO, where, every two days, there will be a brand organizing promotion activity. In addition, it also puts forth the concept of “11.11 flashing store” to cooperate with Tmall offline and adjusts and innovates according to the changing market.
Many enterprises ranked Fortune Global 500 have entered HKRI Taikoo Hui
As the first project honored LEED Platinum pre-certification for Core & Shell in Jing’an District, two class-A office buildings of HKRI Taikoo Hui boast a renting rate of 80%, with many enterprises ranked Fortune Global 500 in financial, legal, fashion, medical and technical sectors and so on having entered to set up Mainland China headquarters or Asia-Pacific headquarters. Two boutique hotels, Sukhothai Shanghai and The Middle House, and the historical building “Cha’s Residence” after renovation will also be put into operation one after another.
