Welcome to Pengpu Park.

Pengpu Park, located in No. 2150, Changzhong Road, was completed and opened in December 1984, and expanded in 1994. It covers an area of 2.88 hectares. Within the park, there are hexagonal pavilions, arch bridges, metasequoia woods, osmanthus fragrans and other attractions. In 2009, the whole park was renovated by removing the damaged pergolas, constructing such new buildings as the Guanlong Pavilion, the flower passage, the guard room and the Zhulin Tingtao Pavilion, rebuilding roads and squares in the park, reshaping water bodies and revetments, laying new pipelines, adjusting the greening layout, and adding new recreational facilities for children and convenient facilities for the public. After such reconstruction, the park, by taking the Guanlong Pavilion as center, features both the waterscape of Chinese garden and the modern landscape avenue. In addition, the repaired sculptures of zodiac scattered around the park may be viewed as clue to visit the park, making the park more interesting and more culturally-loaded. On June 25, 2009, Yu Zhengsheng, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and Han Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Mayor of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government visited the reconstructed Pengpu Park.
