Welcome to Daning Park
Daning Park, located in No. 288, West Guangzhong Road, covers an area of 58.46 hectares, which made it the largest park in downtown Puxi. The park was initiated in 1990s, and officially commenced in 2000. The park was basically completed in 2001 and opened to the public in May 2002. In 2005, the former Guangzhong Park was merged with the Daning Lingshi Park, and collectively called the “Daning Lingshi Park”. In 2016, its name was changed into Daning Park.
Positioned as the city park with natural and ecological landscape, Daning Park, nestling in the natural scenery, boasts 200-odd kinds of plants, forming a stable and symbiotic artificial plant community. The park appears long and narrow from east to west. The eastern zone is the former Guangzhong Park, which features the sculptures from ancient fables and the sunken gardens. Surrounded by Daninghu Lake, the center has various scenic spots including the lake embankment, the beautiful lake and the lakeside wetland. In the western zone, there are a scenic spot of mountain forest and an European style scenic spot. The Pengyuepu River runs through the western zone from south to north.
Daninghu Lake, located in the center of the park, covering an area of nearly 100 mu, looks like a longneck gourd. And its lakeshore line stretches in a zigzag manner. Similar to the long causeway of the West Lake, in the east side of the lake, there is a 100-meter causeway connected by three store-built arch bridges. And the white beach in the north side of the lake is the best destination for tourists to play with water and take photos. The dock in the west side of the lake provides a platform on its top for viewing mountains and lakes. In the westernmost end of the lake, there are many sorts of hydrophytes, with some thatch pavilions and trestles scattered, bringing pleasure in the wild. In the European-style scenic spot of the west side of the park, European pavilions, corridors, fountains and parterres are arranged along the main axis, and spacious scattered forests and grasslands at both sides of the main axis. The scenic spot integrates three styles of European classical garden, i.e. the Italian Renaissance garden, the French formal garden and the English landscape garden to present the grand and magnificent landscape.
