On April 11, at the Center, the Shiyun Physique Team was busy preparing for the upcoming World Cheongsam Cultural Show.

This team, composed of retired modern aunties, has been growing and developing with the support of the Tianmu West Road Sub-district and the Center. With elegant cheongsams, confident strides, and radiant smiles, they embody the charm of cheongsam culture.

Under the guidance of their teacher, the team members changed into cheongsams of various colors and learned the techniques of walking the runway. They practiced repeatedly and made constant adjustments, aiming to showcase their best performance during the show. Each improvement is a challenge and breakthrough for themselves, and each transformation makes them more confident and beautiful.

Synchronized with the music beats, they are no longer just neighbors in daily lives but stars under the spotlight, exuding elegance and grace with every gesture.

DIY denim aprons showcase craftsmanship and ingenuity

Meanwhile, a unique denim apron-making activity attracted numerous senior citizens to participate. With their skillful hands, they transformed pieces of denim fabric into aprons full of life charm.

At the beginning of the activity, the teacher patiently and meticulously explained the steps and techniques of apron-making. The elderly listened attentively, and their needles and threads moved through the denim fabric with great care. Every stitch was done with utmost dedication. They skillfully integrated ribbons with the fabric to sew desired patterns that made each apron unique, reflecting their individuality and creativity.

During the sewing process, the elderly not only exercised their manual dexterity but also enjoyed the pleasure of a colorful life after retirement. As the aprons took shape, smiles of satisfaction appeared on everyone’s faces.

Located at 825 Chang’an Road, the Center is a sub-center of the community cultural activity center, covering an area of about 600 square meters.
