(Text by Reporter Peng Xuhui) From January 27 to February 5, with the purpose of realizing targeted poverty alleviation and helping Shanghai to expand markets for the featured agricultural products for the Partner Assistance of Shanghai to the Four Counties of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region so as to increase their sales, Shanghai Front-line Headquarters of Partner Assistance Work for Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region took “Shanghai New Year Agricultural Products Exhibition” as an opportunity to carry out “Two Lines and Nine Import”-- the Exhibition, Sale and Publicity of Agricultural Products of Kashgar Prefecture Shanghai Activity Week under the joint coordination of the Office for Cooperation and Exchange Affairs of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Agriculture and counterpart four districts. This publicity activity was carried out by the Bachu County Partnered Sub-branch of Shanghai headquarters Partner Assistance Work for Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (hereinafter referred to as “Bachu Sub-branch”) in Jing’an District as the main venue. Activities of other sub-branches of headquarters were held at branch venues of Minhang District, Baoshan District and Pudong New Area.

 

“Shanghai and Kashgar Prefecture Association” Makes Poverty Alleviation More Accurate

 

On the morning of January 31, 2018, the opening ceremony of this activity week was launched in the main hall at the 1st floor of Shanghai Centre. The reporter saw at the scene that there were 10 kinds of agricultural products such as walnuts of Yecheng County, red dates of Zepu County, almonds of Shache County, mutton of Bachu County, and candy apples sold for this activity week. All products were from “Shanghai and Kashgar Prefecture Agricultural Products Production and Marketing Cooperation Association” established by Shanghai Headquarters of Partner Assistance Work for Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region as well as Shanghai and Kashgar Prefecture Agricultural and Commercial Department.

 

“Shanghai and Kashgar Prefecture Association made a centralized integration of famous and high-quality specialty resources of the four Counties of Kashgar Prefecture in order that they could enter the market of Shanghai as fast as possible.” It was introduced that with the purpose of realizing the mating of featured agricultural products with market production and marketing as well as increasing sales of products and the popularity of the agricultural product brands, cadres of the project of Partner Assistance of Shanghai to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region maintained a strict standard for “Entrance Permission”, went deep into researches, conducted field studies, and strictly screened enterprises engaged in processing agricultural food of the four counties as well as the quality of the products they provided. Up until now, enterprises affiliated and the guilds have exceeded 50. Member enterprises of the Association focused more on poverty alleviation when implementing direct purchasing of producing areas and gave priority to featured agricultural products conforming to relevant standards of registered poor households.

 

Building “Online and Offline” New Consumption Mode

 

The responsible person of Bachu Sub-branch introduced that this Agricultural Products of Kashgar Prefecture Shanghai Activity Week took the strategy of “Two Lines and Nine Imports”. Shanghai quinquagenarians preferred to purchase physical products. Making use of that habit, staffs working for the project of partner assistance of Shanghai to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region tried their best to help the public keep close contact with physical featured agricultural products of Kashgar Prefecture by themselves. Meanwhile sponsors of the activity week also paid attention to young white-collars who were used to the consumption habit of online shopping, so they took the strategy of working along both lines of “controlling the equal price for the same product online and offline” to market high-quality agricultural products of Kashgar Prefecture by carrying out online sales through e-commerce platforms.

 

It was reported that with the assistance and support of Shanghai Headquarters of Partner Assistance Work for Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the Bachu Sub-branch had started to try the agricultural products sale mode of “Two Lines and Nine Import” since December 1, 2017. Up until now, more than 480 tons of products have been sold out whose sales reached RMB 6.6 million. On the basis of drawing on the experience of successful sale of agricultural products some time ago, Bachu Sub-branch carried out “Two Lines and Nine Import·Agricultural Products of Kashgar Prefecture Shanghai Activity Week” in Shanghai Centre as well as sub-districts and towns of Shanghai. It is expected that 70 tons of agricultural products will be sold out, gaining a sales revenue of RMB 2.1 million.
