(Text by Reporter Huang Jingjing) The reporter learnt from Sports Bureau of Jing’an District that Gobang Competition of the First National Youth Intelligence Sports Meeting dropped the curtain in Binhai New District of Tianjin recently. The Youth Sports Club of Jing’an District achieved excellent performance in this competition – one gold medal, 3 silver medals and 2 bronze medals in individual competitions, and 2 silver medals in team competitions.
This intelligence sports meeting is currently the only and the highest level of domestic comprehensive competition of intelligence sports (Weiqi, Chinese Chess, Chess, Gobang, Draughts and Bridge) tailored specifically for teenagers.
The competition is divided into individual competition and team competition and grouped by age. The results are calculated according to the sectors. Nearly 150 outstanding teenager gobang players in more than 20 participating teams from more than 10 provinces and cities of the country participated in the competition.
In order to further highlight the profundity of intelligence sports of Jing’an District, build the quality features of gobang, win initial success of the brand of the Youth Sports Club of Jing’an District, and continue to fight for honor of Jing’an and Shanghai, this time, the club carefully selected 10 high-level teenager gobang players to take part in the competition in Tianjin, and specially arranged continuous and intense pre-competition training to improve the players’ personal breakthrough ability and the overall level of the team.
Finally, after 7 rounds of fierce fighting for 3 days, Yang Jiayou (Shanghai Jing’an Education College Affiliated School) secured the first place of general individual results of U18 Male Group with one round in advance with absolute predominance of six wins and one draw, and easily became the individual champion of U18 Male Group in institution sector. Chen Yutong (Shanghai Shixi Junior Middle School), Zhang Xiuqi (Shanghai Shixi Primary School) and Li Xiaoyan (Shanghai First Normal School Affiliated Primary School) respectively became the individual runner-up of U18 Female Group, the individual runner-up of U12 Male Group, and the individual runner-up of U10 Female Group in institution sector. Ning Haoran (Jing’an No.2 Central Primary School) and Li Manwen (Jing’an No.3 Central Primary School) respectively became the individual third winner of U12 Male Group, and the individual third winner of U10 Female Group in institution sector.
