(Text by Reporter Peng Xuhui) With the purpose of further introducing the abundant and high-quality agricultural and sideline products as well as tourism products of Yunnan Province to markets of Shanghai, pushing forward the policy of reducing poverty through industrial development, and enriching the increasing material and spiritual life demands of people from Jing’an District, the first “Jing’an District Activity Week of Introducing Local Specialties from Yunnan Province to Shanghai”, organized by Yunnan Provincial Government Shanghai Liaison Office in the leading place and co-hosted by Cooperation and Exchange Office of Shanghai Jing’an District People’s Government and Jing’an District Commission of Commerce, was recently held at “Greenland Middle Ring Square” of Jing’an District. Li Zucheng, member of leading party group and Deputy Inspector of Yunnan Provincial Government Shanghai Liaison Office, Zhang Rongsheng, Deputy Inspector of Shanghai Government Cooperation and Communication Office, and Deng Xiaodong, member of standing committee of Jing’an District Committee and Deputy Governor attended the activity.
At the scene, 62 enterprises from 6 cities or prefectures of Yunnan Province such as Kunming City, Baoshan City, Pu’er City, Xishuangbanna Prefecture and Dali Prefecture brought high-quality agricultural and sideline products as well as special products with local cultural characteristics such as Flower Cakes, Pu’er Tea, Panax Notoginseng, Dendrobium Nobile, Sweet Kongmy and Coffea Arabica to residents of Jing’an District. Among them, the poverty-relieving eco-chickens from Baoshan City were very popular to citizens, dozens of which were sold out in just a few minutes after being put on sale.
“I hope that more high-quality agricultural products with plateau characteristics of Yunnan Province produced by impoverished families in Yunnan Province can be placed on the table of Shanghai citizens through this activity to help these families get rid of poverty.” According to relevant responsible person of Yunnan Province, the province was endowed with abundant and high-quality agricultural and sideline products as well as tourism resources and the “Introducing Yunnan Products to Shanghai” Jing’an District Activity Week aimed to promote the sales of characteristic agricultural products of Yunnan Province, increase the popularity of the agricultural product brands of Yunnan province, establish a stable mechanism of increasing income targeted on impoverished families, and advance targeted poverty reduction and industrial cooperation. This activity could better guide citizens of Jing’an District to know about “Yunnan Products” and show their loving heart by buying agricultural products with plateau characteristics, therefore demonstrating the civilized demeanor of citizens joining hands with impoverished families for well-off lives.
