“Time of Jing’an” Start at Shanghai Fashion Week 2019 with Vivienne Tam Fashion Show

On the evening of March 27, 2019, the Vivienne Tam Fall/Winter 2019 Fashion Show, opening show of the Shanghai International Fashion Showcase (SIFS), was launched at Shanghai Chamber of Commerce. Vivienne Tam is a Chinese American and world’s top fashion designer. This visual feast themed "SHERO" marked the brand's first launch in Jing'an District, Shanghai, instead of New York.

The reporter learned that its “world debut” is the keyword to fashion shows of SIFS this year, presenting the worldwide elite designers in the Jing'an business circle, and initiating a dialogue on the win-win-directed business model and the new trend of fashion. In addition to Vivienne Tam, the haute couture brand owned by the Chinese American fashion designer Vivienne Tam, international bands like Jenny Packham, a UK brand most favored by Kate Middleton, and Faith Connexion, a designer brand from France, will launch their collections and hold fashion shows for the first time in China at SIFS 2019. Moreover, SIFS will also launch a co-branded product with Shu Uemura and Crocs to exhibit fashion fusion.

During the Shanghai Fashion Week 2019, several fashion events will be held in Jing'an in addition to SIFS. The KIDS WEAR launch that brings together 22 well-known domestic and foreign brands will be held at 800 Show. Showroom Shanghai, one of the venues for promoting trade orders at the Shanghai Fashion Week, will present 30 high-end clothing brands at Shanghai Exhibition Center. The fifth Shanghai Fashion Weekend at Shanghai Exhibition Center will advocate “showcasing excellence with difference and defining perfection with oneself” and endow trendsetters with new experience in purchasing the original designs through themed exhibitions, large-scale fashion installations, fashion photography exhibitions, and Fashion East, a pioneer design platform from London. The future of the industry will be discussed and views on hot topics shared at the several summits such as the third BoF China Summit. The finals of the first BoF China Prize held in the same period will help more talented Chinese designers to stand out at the Shanghai Fashion Week and grow up quickly.

It is reported that this Shanghai Fashion Week will revolve around "re-see", which is to advocate reviewing, looking back and searching the heart, and send out the inner power. Launches, trade exhibitions, themed events and others for the industry and consumers will be held. After 17 years of development, Shanghai Fashion Week is ushering in an era of enhanced quality, power and efficiency. It will integrate all resources with a more open attitude, and promote the image of Shanghai as a brand for shopping. The business committee of the district said that Jing’an, as a long-term partner of Shanghai Fashion Week, will further stimulate commercial prosperity and fashion vitality, bring together more fashion events and resources, continuously enhance the influence of Jing'an in the fashion sector, and build the “center of fashion” in Shanghai with international influence.
