Here we come to Shanghai Daning International Elementary School where Anderson studies. When asked what he likes, Anderson often answered, “I live in Jing’an and I love everything about it, especially studying here.” Here is his experience of studying at Jing’an—

Innovation classroom. At Anderson’s school, they use a smart iPad system to study in group discussions. In the robot classroom, teachers work with students to participate in programming and robot design. Anderson showed us the robot IV3 created by him and his teachers. Moreover, Anderson shows great interest in the school library, Chinese traditional culture, and physical education.

Feel the nature. Of course, for Anderson, studying at Jing’an is not just about the classroom. There are so many places where he can get knowledge, like the Shanghai Natural History Museum. “And here we have a Tyrannosaurus with its mouth wide open, we also call it Tyrannosaurus Rex.” The commentator was giving a vivid and professional introduction. In the Museum, there are big dinosaurs, animals, and plants, as well as a lot of specimens which are all real ones. Anderson said that he could stay there all day.

Retrospect history. Speaking of patriotic education bases in Shanghai, what impresses Anderson most is the Shanghai Sihang Warehouse War Memorial Hall. Students were first organized by the school. Anderson clearly remembered that when the teacher told them this history, many students cried. “The Chinese martyrs are really great!”

Appreciate culture. Jing’an District Culture Center often has different exhibitions. For example, today’s show is “Reconstructed Architecture”. Anderson’s father often brings him here and Anderson likes some of the exhibitions here. Although he doesn’t understand some of them either, he enjoys being there and his favorite show is “Freeze Frame and Reincarnation”.

Anderson was quite impressed and said, “I study in Jing’an not only in school but so many interesting places. So what is the experience of studying at Jing’an? That’s being there. Learning in Jing’an is a very wonderful experience. I love being here!”

Identified as the “first batch of typical case units for after-school services in compulsory education”, Jing’an is the first to explore and launch “Three-stage” After-school Services, and its innovative measures and typical experience have been promoted nationwide. “Three-stage” After-school Services are divided into “study time, free time, and warm time”, giving full play to the development characteristics and curriculum resources of the school. “One plan for one school” builds a new platform to support students’ all-around development in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education.

In recent years, with a view to promoting a high-quality development of education, Jing’an has actively implemented the “double reduction” of compulsory education, deepened the comprehensive reform of education, and insisted on running education that satisfies the people.
