In recent years, Shanghai Shibei Hi-tech Park has actively benchmarked against Shanghai’s general requirements for urban digital transformation. Focusing on the industrial evolution path of “Cloud, digitization, intellectualization, and chain”, the park has continuously improved the system of the data intelligence industry. It has established a comprehensive experimental area for national blockchain innovative applications while taking the innovative practice of the trusted data system as a breakthrough to cultivate data element market players actively, aiming to build a “trusted data economy pilot zone” for Shanghai’s urban digital transformation.

Since the end of last year, when the “Eight Benchmark Projects” of trusted data were released and the “Ten Policies” for enterprises were introduced, initial progress has been made in the aggregation of trusted data enterprises, ecosystem creation, and scenario construction. The Shanghai Shibei Hi-tech Park, Guan An Info., Ant Group Digital Technologies, East China Normal University, and other advantageous resources in the field of the trusted data economy, jointly initiated the “Trusted Data Economy Research Institute” during this year’s World Artificial Intelligence Conference. In the future, they will collaborate in industrial system innovation, technology standards and certification system construction, and digital industry cluster creation. In addition, several enterprises and platform organizations, including Smart Logic and Guan An Info., have already settled in the zone. They will leverage their respective features to fully unleash the vitality of the data element market.

Based on new-generation information technologies such as big data, blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence, the park is working to create a trusted digital foundation platform with intelligent sensing, pivot, assets, and services, as well as digital life innovative demonstration application scenarios, to realize lean operations and the sharing of data and services within the park, provide digital life services for nearly 10,000 enterprise employees in the park, and improve the scale of the digital economy consumption inner circular economy in the park.

In terms of scenario implementation, the construction work for the trusted digital foundation platform and scenario demonstration project in the Shanghai Shibei Hi-tech Park has already commenced. Currently, the first scenario for rental housing has been launched and is in operation. It provides tenants with functions such as online signing, mobile payment, and utility management, including water and electricity. It also offers various practical functions for the management team, such as lease management, energy consumption management, basic IoT management, operational indicator management, and multi-dimensional apartment analysis. In the future, the mobile function of metaverse-based housing viewing will be developed, linking user data from scenarios to a trusted blockchain foundation, enabling intelligent operational services such as low-carbon incentives and providing richer user portraits for smart rental. The trusted digital foundation will be designed with an integrated operation platform, to reserve space for later scenario integration and achieve the integration of more application systems and scenarios.

In the next step, the park will further integrate more of its IoT and enterprise data, assemble open data on the governmental side, and digitize various management items and services to accumulate more intangible assets for the field of digital transformation and bring data to life and enabling them to move and be utilized.
