Recently, the Party Branch of the Veteran Official Office of the CPC Jing’an District Committee carried out a Party Day activity themed “Carrying Forward Revolutionary Legacy and Shouldering the Mission of the Times” to commemorate the centenary of the Second National Congress of the CPC and the introduction of the Party Constitution.
The activity kicked off as the promotional video The Preferred Land of Revolution was shown. Later, Shi Yaoxin, former Chairman of the CPPCC Jing’an District Committee and a veteran CPC member of 56 years’ standing, shared his experience of decades of dedication to the CPC.
Over the past 56 years, he has kept in mind the oath of joining the CPC, acted following the guiding principles of the Party Constitution, and actively contributed to regional economic development and the protection of people’s livelihood. His acts vividly interpret his unlimited responsibility and loyalty to the CPC as a veteran CPC member.
Fifty years after joining the CPC, Shi Yaoxin expressed his deep affection for the CPC by copying the first Party Constitution with a brush and pen. During the activity, he presented his handwritten Party Constitution to the representatives of young CPC members of the Veteran Official Office and shared the story behind the handwritten copy.
He said that the handwritten copy is not only a special commemoration for him as a CPC member of 50 years’ standing, but also places his ardent expectations for young CPC members. He hoped that young CPC members will always be loyal to the CPC and stay diligent and pragmatic, good at learning, and upright.
Representatives of young CPC members who received the special gifts exchanged their thoughts. They agreed that they will live up to the earnest instructions of veteran comrades, follow the instructions and guidance of the CPC, give full play to the vanguard and exemplary role as CPC members in their posts, and contribute to the work of veteran officials with youth and sweat.
The activity pointed out that all CPC members and officials should conscientiously study the Party Constitution and improve their Party consciousness. Jing’an is the birthplace of the first Party Constitution. The CPC members and officials in Jing’an should take studying the Party Constitution more necessary, strictly require themselves with the Party Constitution, keep in mind the purpose of the Party, never forget the original aspirations and missions of the Party, strengthen their ideals and beliefs, and fulfill the obligations of Party members, and constantly educate, exercise, transform, and improve themselves. All Party members and officials should learn from good examples, work hard for the organization, emulate those better than themselves and never forget the oath of joining the Party. Focusing on studying and implementing the Opinions on Strengthening the Party Building of Retired Officials in the New Era, they should strive to promote the high-quality development of the work of veteran officials in the new era, set the stage for the convening of the 20th CPC National Congress with practical actions.
In the end, under the leadership of Shi Yaoxin, all Party members and officials, in the face of the bright red Party flag, raised their right fists to re-read the oath of joining the Party. They expressed their loyalty and love to the Party in their sonorous and forceful vows.
