This year marks the 100^th anniversary of the adoption of the first Party Constitution of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Being in the birthplace of the Party Constitution, Jing’an procuratorate specially introduced the column of “Youth in the Procuratorate Learns the Party Constitution”, which allows the youth to deepen the study of the Party Constitution, practice the Party Constitution at all times, carry forward the great spirit of Party building and consolidate the efforts of forging ahead in the new era.

Over the past 100 years, the Party Constitution has adapted to the situation and tasks at different historical stages, and continuously breathed new life and new elements to awake vigorous spirits.

The revision of the Party Constitution is the dialectical unity of “changes and unchanges”. What has changed is that in the changing world conditions, national conditions, and Party conditions, the continuous improvement and standardization of the Party’s politics, ideology, organization and system is a historical process that reflects new ideas and new theories. What remains unchanged is the original aspirations of “serving the people”.

General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed, “Since the very day of its founding, the Party has made seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation its original aspirations and mission. Since the 7^th National Congress of the CPC, the Party Constitution has highlighted the principle of serving the people with dedication. The Party Constitution of the 8^th National Congress of the CPC emphasized the need to ‘fight against bureaucratic phenomena that the Party is disengaged from the people and from real life’.”

The Party Constitution of the 16^th National Congress of the CPC stated that “the Party represents throughout the requirements in the development of advanced productive forces in China, the progressive orientation of the advanced culture in China and the fundamental interests of the broadest masses of the people in China.” Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, and the Party Constitution of the 19^th National Congress of the CPC stated that “the Party must commit to a people-centered philosophy of development”, and the Party Constitution firmly stated that the Party would fulfill the “Two Centenary Goals” and realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Throughout the past century of our Party’s magnificent endeavor, the specific policies of the party have been constantly adjusted with the development and changes of the situation, but what remains unchanged is the original aspirations and mission of our Party and the flesh-and-blood connection between the Party and the people.

Serving the people also gives full play to the vanguards and role models of Party members. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, in the Procuratorate, the Party members have become epidemic prevention “scouts”, they participated in the circulation, and built a “red fortress” for epidemic prevention and control. Young police officers actively responded to the “convening orders”, with whom communities were empowered to fight against the front-line epidemic work. Prosecutors with public benefits help the people with their emergencies, difficulties and worries”, and practice procuratorial affairs for the people. Police officers on duty perform their duties and handle “epidemic-related cases” in accordance with the law, ensuring that prevention and control will not be deregulated and case handling will not stop.

As procuratorial officers in the new era, we insist on serving the people’s justice wholeheartedly, upholding the Communists’ original aspirations, fulfilling the mission of the procurators to do practical work and solve difficult problems, earnestly shouldering the procuratorial responsibilities and contributing to the procuratorial force, so as to welcome the victory of the 20th National Congress of the CPC with practical actions.
