The Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held between July 16 and 23, 1922, at which the first Party Constitution was deliberated and approved.

On July 23, the Publicity Department of Shanghai Municipal Committee, Shanghai Municipal Postal Administration, China Post Group Corporation Shanghai Branch, and the CPC Jing’an District Committee jointly held the first issue activity in Shanghai. This activity was to commemorate the 100^th anniversary of the first Party Constitution, implement the guiding principles of the 12^th Shanghai Municipal Party Congress, and carry forward the great founding spirit of the Party.

Zhang pointed out that the issue of the commemorative stamp to memorize the centenary of the first Party Constitution is to recall the history that CPC has striven forward against all odds to lay a foundation for its great cause over the past century. Furthermore, through this form of art, it aims to unite, inspire, and guide Party members and officials to strictly observe the Party Constitution and firmly implement the requirements of the Party Constitution to create continuous new miracles and display a new look.

Taking the issuance of this stamp as an opportunity, Shanghai will deeply practice the CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important exposition on the Party Constitution, carry forward the great founding spirit of the Party, learn, follow, implement, and uphold the Party Constitution more consciously, stay true to and strive for the original aspiration, accelerate the building of a modern socialist cosmopolis with global influence, endeavor to write new chapters and add new glory to the Party’s history.

China Post Group Corporation Shanghai Branch donated the No.1 commemorative stamp to the Memorial Site of the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Yu Yong, Secretary of the CPC Jing’an District Committee, received it on behalf of the memorial site.

The commemorative stamp depicts the Party emblem, part of the first Party Constitution, and the Memorial Site of the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China on a waving flag in the gradient color of sunrise, symbolizing that the light of revolution will shine on China and its future path, vividly demonstrating the unremitting glorious course and great achievements of the Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC.
