There on the quiet and attractive Huashan Road sits a wellknown art institute of the country, Shanghai Theatre Academy. A tiny area occupying 35.53 hectares as it is, it displays itself as a special scene on Huashan Road for its grace and elegance. It is especially true when it comes to the old-styled buildings embraced by clouds of skyscrapers. These buildings are there to emanate the fragrance of humanism, among which, is Xiong Foxi Building. It was originally the college's building for performance built and rebuilt respectively in 1903 and 2000. It has two stories and on the first floor is a meeting room and an entertainment room for old cadre while the second floor holds the exhibition room for this college's hishibition room for this college's history.

Xiong Foxi wrote 27 full-length dramas and sixteen one-act plays for all his life and published seven collections of dramas. He also completed three theoretical treatises, which are Foxi's Comment on Theatre, Theories on Writing Dramas and Experiment on the Popularization of Dramans.
