Recently, representatives from kindergartens at all levels in Jing’an District gathered in the auditorium of the district Education Bureau to hold a seminar on promoting the comprehensive development of high-quality kindergartens in the district, initiating the work for the new year.

The seminar pointed out that it is an important task for the development of preschool education in Shanghai at this stage to comprehensively promote the development of high-quality kindergartens. This is conducted following the requirements of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on the development of preschool education and childcare services. The aim is to provide people-centered education that meets people’s expectations, build a high-quality education system, boost public support in Shanghai, and ensure high-quality education for children.

Experts from the Nursery Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission were invited to give a special lecture on advancing the comprehensive development of high-quality kindergartens at the seminar. The experts introduced the background, main content, and task objectives of fostering the comprehensive development of high-quality kindergartens in Shanghai, offering a clearer insight into the strategic planning for the development of high-quality kindergartens in Shanghai. To effectively operate kindergartens in residents’ vicinity, it is essential to adopt a people-centered approach, insist on two visibilities, grasp three subjects, achieve four changes, strengthen synergy in five aspects, implement six measures, and promote all-round high-quality development.

At the seminar, the Preschool Education Division of Jing’an District reviewed the work regarding the comprehensive development of high-quality kindergartens in Jing’an District. Representatives from Sanquan Road Kindergarten and Guangzhong Xincun Kindergarten delivered speeches respectively on “‘Action and Thinking’ of Martial Arts Activity in Kindergarten — Reflection Based on the Field Evaluation of Building High-quality Kindergartens” and “Pool Wisdom and Strength to Promote the Development of High-quality Kindergartens” for ideas exchange.

Finally, the district Education Bureau assigned the tasks and requirements for advancing the comprehensive development of high-quality kindergartens in the next step. All kindergartens should further strengthen the learning and comprehension of the principles to develop a profound grasp of the significance, tasks, and targets of high-quality development. Motivated by these tasks and targets, they should refine the practical plan for building high-quality kindergartens and operate kindergartens in residents’ vicinity well.
