Do you want to enrich your safety knowledge base for free
or have an immersive experience of safety culture?
Good news!
The Jing’an District Safety Culture Education Experience Hall has commenced trial operations
and will be officially open to the public soon!
The experience hall, meticulously constructed by the Jing’an District Emergency Management Bureau with an area of approximately 320 square meters was fully completed in November 2023. It showcases safety knowledge and provides a safety education platform that integrates interaction, experience, and learning.
Upon entering the experience hall, visitors will be fascinated by its four experience areas: fire safety, home safety, natural disasters, and traffic safety.
In each area, visitors will feel immersed in realistic scenarios through a combination of images, texts, physical objects, and simulated environments, complemented by sound, light, visuals, and cutting-edge VR technology. This approach will enable visitors to learn the correct self-rescue methods and evacuation skills in the event of disasters, fostering a safety cultural environment where everyone emphasizes safety and is well-versed in emergency response.
I. Introduction
Fire Safety Experience Area
In the Fire Safety Experience Area, our guide will lead visitors to explore the development history of emergency agencies under the overall safety and emergency response framework. Visitors will engage in an immersive experience featuring a surround sound system while watching short videos that highlight typical cases of fire accidents.
Additionally, visitors can participate in experiments such as improper disposal of cigarette butts and overloading of electrical circuits, working together to uncover hidden fire hazards. By engaging in simulated fire fighting activities, they can gain an in-depth knowledge of the automatic fire alarm and linkage demonstration systems in buildings and experience diverse scenarios including simulated fire escape systems, thus significantly enhancing their awareness of fire safety.
Home Safety Experience Area
What safety knowledge should we be aware of in daily life? Within the Home Safety Experience Area, visitors can engage in a lifelike kitchen fire simulation. As flames burst from the stove, participants are presented with three fire extinguishing choices based on the fire’s intensity: pot lid, fire blanket, and fire extinguisher.
During the “firefighting” process, the guide will also inform visitors that in the event of a frying pan fire at home, one can typically choose a pot lid to smother the flames by cutting off the oxygen supply within the pan. When covering the pot with a lid, one should employ a small technique: gently slide the lid over from the side of the pan, avoiding a direct placement from the top, to effectively reduce oxygen supply and help extinguish the fire.
Natural Disaster Experience Area
What is earthquake? How should we rescue ourselves promptly in case of emergencies? The earthquake cabin in the area offers participants the chance to experience the intensity of seismic activity by simulating the shaking of a magnitude 6 earthquake.
Leveraging the latest VR technology, the double egg-like chairs enable participants to learn the basic earthquake principles and escape methods while personally experiencing ground shaking.
Traffic Safety Experience Area
In the Traffic Safety Experience Area, visitors can wear VR headsets to immerse themselves in the simulated driving experience of electric vehicles and automobiles.
Here, visitors can deeply comprehend the dire outcomes resulting from hazardous driving practices like drunk driving, fatigue driving, and speeding through a first-person viewpoint. Additionally, they can experience the high-stress environment of a car accident in scenarios designed according to actual traffic accidents.
