Following the “May 5 Shopping Festival”, Jing’an District has now kicked off the “Summer Carnival Season”, creating a new card for summer-themed consumption. On the evening of July 6, the launching ceremony of the Themed Event in Jing’an District of the “Shanghai Summer” International Consumption Season took place at the Night Food Sky Space on the 9th floor of Jing’an Joy City North Tower.

The reporter learned from the launching ceremony that from July to October, Jing’an District will host a series of high-quality, international business, tourism, and cultural, sports, and exhibition events under the theme of “Enjoyable Summer, Shining Jing’an”. These events include “one launching ceremony + a matrix consisting of five flagship events + X key event IPs”, aiming to deepen the development of a “comprehensive consumption” pattern and enhance the momentum for the high-quality development of the demonstration area of an international consumption center city.

During the ceremony,

a series of Jing’an’s business, tourism, cultural, and sports projects

were presented to global consumers.

These projects include the 2024 “Shanghai Summer” International Consumption Season’s “Jing’an District First Store Guide”, “Jing’an Treasure Store-oriented City Walk Route”, “Jing’an · Cultural and Tourism Map of Julu Road, Fumin Road, and Changle Road”, “Cultural and Tourism Map of Artistic Suzhou Creek”, and the “‘Vibrant Summer in Jing’an’ 2024 Jing’an Business District Sports Event Calendar”, among others.

Besides, “Shanghai Summer” Jing’an Consumption Maps were distributed to representatives from shopping malls and Jing’an Night Cycling Team, as well as Jing’an youth representatives, inviting domestic and international consumers to gather in Jing’an, experience Jing’an, and enjoy shopping in Jing’an.

Jing’an District, with a focus on deepening the synergy between business, tourism, culture, sports, and exhibitions, has created a matrix consisting of five flagship events: Shining Shanghai Festival, Shanghai International Tea Culture Tourism Festival, Shanghai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2025, China Time-Honored Brand Expo, and Shanghai Masters Wildcard Qualifier. Arc’teryx launched the “Arc’teryx Evolution Exhibition” at the North Building of Wheelock Square in Jing’an District to advocate for outdoor activities and a sustainable lifestyle and promote green and healthy development in the city and society;

Jing’an Kerry Centre, aligning with the Olympic season, adopted the theme “Ignite Your Passion” and installed multiple outdoor sports-themed installations throughout the shopping mall;

Gucci, focusing on its tennis-themed Duffle bag collection, created a creative wall painting at Fengshengli to tell the brand’s story and pay tribute to its ambassador, Jannik Sinner, and his extraordinary journey.

Food

Fengshengli, New Factories, Wujiang Road, and Crystal Galleria successively launched the international beer festival, wine festival, summer market, and other activities. Additionally, they combined these activities with the Euro 2024 to bring consumers a summer carnival filled with “passion and excitement”.

Art

Plaza 66 and Suzhou Creek MixC World organized the Summer Art Season event, collaborating with contemporary artists to showcase a series of art-themed installations and create immersive shopping experience for customers;

The exhibition “Eternal Notre-Dame” will take place in July at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. Utilizing virtual reality technology, it will recreate the magnificent panorama of Notre-Dame de Paris.

Culture

Shanghai Jing’an Joy City will grandly launch the first “Joy Universe” activity from July to September. During this time, the national debut of 14 top international IP flash mob performances will take place.

Entertainment

MOHO, Jing’an IMIX Park, and Fengshengli will all host music-themed activities, combining immersive performances with artistic installations. These activities will bring a dreamlike and summery auditory feast, allowing the audience to have close interactions with the performances.

Collaborated consumption promotion among business districts

Capitalizing on the opportunity presented by the “Shanghai Summer” International Consumption Season, Jing’an District has initiated the “Enjoyable Summer, Shining Jing’an” consumption promotion campaign. Key shopping malls in the West Nanjing Road Business District, Suzhou Creek Business District, and Daning Business District join forces to distribute 10,000 “Enjoyable Summer, Shining Vouchers”.

During the event, consumers can obtain a voucher by meeting certain spending thresholds at participating malls. These vouchers can be redeemed for time-honored “internet-famous” fresh meat mooncakes at designated Shanghai Xiqu LAO DAH VONG & CO stores.
