Jing’an Welcomes Three New Regional Headquarters of Transnational Corporations

On July 25, the certificate-presenting ceremony for the 39th batch of regional headquarters and R&D centers of transnational corporations was held at the Shanghai People’s Building. Gong Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai, presented certificates to 30 regional headquarters of transnational corporations and 15 foreign-funded R&D centers, while Deputy Mayor Hua Yuan delivered a speech. TASAKI (Shanghai) Commercial Co., Ltd., LOFT Commercial Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and IWG Business Service (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. participated in the certificate-presenting ceremony for headquarters. Zhai Lei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jing’an District Committee and Acting District Mayor, attended the ceremony.

TASAKI (Shanghai) Commercial Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai in 2012, with investment from Japan Inc. TASAKI, a leading integrated jewelry company in Japan. The group owns 15 subsidiaries worldwide and operates two Japanese jewelry brands, TASAKI and AHKAH.

LOFT Commercial Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai in 2020 with investment from Japan Inc. THE LOFT CO., LTD. (short for LOFT). LOFT is Japan’s largest integrated grocery chain enterprise and also a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd., Japan’s largest retail group. Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd. ranked 129th in the 2023 Fortune Global 500.

IWG Business Service (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was registered and established in 2021, with investment from International Workplace Group (short for IWG), the world’s largest provider of flexible workspace solutions and a pioneer in the flexible workspace industry. IWG has been operating in China for nearly 30 years, with a presence in over 40 cities and more than 150 branches.

In recent years, Jing’an District has successively launched the “Headquarters Economy Enhancement Program”, the “Asia-Pacific Operation Headquarters Support Program”, and the “Foreign Investment Promotion Partnership Program”, accelerating the construction of a multi-functional, comprehensive, and regionally distributed headquarters economic system and achieving a simultaneous increase in the quantity and quality of headquarters economy. Since the implementation of the “14th Five-Year Plan”, Jing’an has accommodated over a hundred regional headquarters of transnational corporations in total. In 2023, the total tax revenue from the regional headquarters of the transnational corporations in Jing’an exceeded RMB 10 billion.
