The national flag flies high and the national anthem resounds. On the morning of October 1, a flag-raising ceremony titled "Long Live the Motherland" was held at the Memorial Site of the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Zhang Qi, Deputy Director and Level-I Counsel of Shanghai Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau, Tang Hongtao, Deputy Director of the Party History Research Office of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Xiao Yeying, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Jing'an District Committee, responsible persons of the Publicity and Education Division of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, the Organization Department of the CPC Jing'an District Committee, the Ethics Promotion Office of Jing'an District, the Chinese Communist Youth League Committee of Jing'an District, and West Tianmu Road Sub-district, as well as nearly 100 guest representatives, Party member representatives, youth representatives, and stationed military unit representatives from various departments, committees, offices, bureaus, sub-districts (towns), and enterprises and public institutions in Jing'an District, attended the flag-raising ceremony.

At 8:30 a.m., the flag-raising ceremony officially began. The flag-raising and guard of honor formation composed of the Longhua Martyrs' Cemetery ceremonial escort team and the Jing'an District People's Armed Forces Department, held high the bright Five-star Red Flag, marching with precise steps toward the flag-raising platform. Accompanied by the majestic "March of the Volunteers", the Five-star Red Flag rose slowly as the national anthem was sung throughout the venue.

During the ceremony, West Tianmu Road Sub-district presented a short drama titled "The Transformation of Fanguanong—Practicing the People's Urban Concept, Achieving Happy 'In-situ Upgrade'", depicting the transformation of the former "shantytown" into a new vibrant community.

"When the individual self merges with the greater whole, pursuing and fulfilling dreams in one's dedicated post, radiating warmth and light wherever one stands. The dreams of the youth are the dreams of China, and their upright spirit is the backbone of China." The Chinese Communist Youth League Committee of Jing'an District brought a performance of "With Me, the Nation Grows Stronger", showcasing the youth of Jing'an as they energetically write a vibrant chapter of youth taking responsibility for Chinese modernization during the great cause of powerful country construction and national rejuvenation. As the melody of "Ode to the Motherland" fills the air, people join in the on-site chorus, blessing the eternal prosperity and flourishing of the motherland with resounding voices.

Amidst enthusiastic applause, Zhang Qi unveiled the plaque for the Memorial Site of the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China being elevated to a "National Second-Class Museum". Tang Hongtao and Xiao Yeying jointly launched the national tour exhibition "Retracing the 'Central Revolutionary Transport Line'—Early Organs of the CPC Central Committee in Jing'an (1921-1933)".

Next, this national tour exhibition will leverage Shanghai's rich revolutionary cultural resources, particularly the unique resource in Jing'an District (a place where Marxism was spread, the revolutionary leaders stayed, the early organs of the CPC Central Committee gathered, the first Party Constitution was created, the mass movements began, and the Party's united front policy was proposed). Along the Central Revolutionary Transport Line and in collaboration with local publicity departments and cultural venues, it will showcase these resources to blend revolutionary culture, activate revolutionary resources, and highlight revolutionary brands, thereby guiding more individuals to draw inspiration from the centennial history of the Party and tapping into the inexhaustible power and striving wisdom and strength of national rejuvenation.

With a steadfast original intention and a sense of duty on their shoulders, the Memorial Site of the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China has been holding the "Long Live the Motherland" flag-raising ceremony every October 1 morning since 2009 as a revolutionary brand activity. In the future, the memorial site will further leverage its strengths, effectively utilize revolutionary resources, delve deeper into historical research and collection studies, narrate compelling stories of Jing'an, Shanghai, and China, and make greater contributions to Jing'an's efforts in creating an urban area model with Chinese modernization.
