Recently, the Shanghai Jing'an District Bureau of Justice hosted an International Legal Service Innovation and Development event to create a global platform for legal service exchange and collaboration and partner with industry elites within and beyond the sector to further advance the construction and development of the "West Nanjing Road-Suhe Bay International Legal Service Cluster Belt" (hereinafter referred to as the "Cluster Belt"). It aims to infuse new momentum into Jing'an's ambition to establish a legal service brand that is centered in Jing'an and based in Shanghai, serving and connecting the world.

Fu Jun, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jing'an District Committee and Executive Deputy District Mayor, stated that West Nanjing Road is Shanghai's premier business district, while Suhe Bay is the waterfront core area of Suzhou Creek in the central urban area of Shanghai. With the full play of the legal service platform, the Cluster Belt will foster a more legally grounded and convenient business environment by facilitating the investment, operations and development of the enterprises in Jing'an district.

According to the introduction, since 2023, Jing'an District with a continuous commitment to the "One Axis and Three Belts" development strategy and the task of building the Shanghai International Legal Service Center, has been striving to create a golden reputation for the legal service industry by integrating the resource advantages of the West Nanjing Road legal service zone, unleashing the development potential of the Suhe Bay's legal services, and gathering a group of law firms with global service capabilities.

Currently, Jing'an District is focusing on the construction of the Cluster Belt to attract the gathering and development of well-known domestic and foreign law firms. The district persistently emphasizes the strategy of attracting, strengthening, and nurturing excellence, aiming to cultivate a group of locally renowned law firms with high brand visibility and strong professional service capabilities. In addition, the district places a strong emphasis on nurturing talent. It hosts the Legal Professional Elite Roundtable Meeting and has established specialized programs like the Belt and Road Advanced Economic and Trade Legal Talent Internship Base, continuously enhancing the development and quality of the legal talent pool.
