On December 31, 2024, the small yet charming "Xingren" New Year Market kicked off in the bustling Fudeli Park Citizen Garden Center (hereinafter referred to as "the Center"). This is also the first market event held at the Center since it was recognized as an "Excellent Citizen Garden Center" in Shanghai.
At the market, various potted plants for the Lunar New Year are waiting for plant-loving citizens to take them home, adding vitality and color to the upcoming 2025. The public benefit creative brand "Xiaoxingren" series of creative products convey warmth and positive energy. The DIY area attracts many citizens and tourists to pause, either to purchase one-of-a-kind handmade items or to make themselves a New Year gift.
The "Red Holly, Festive Floral Art" New Year flower arrangement experience activity held simultaneously at the Center also attracted many citizens to sign up. Following the on-site teaching guidance of professional florists, everyone carefully crafted materials such as goat willow, nipple fruits (also known as GoldBerry or Wu Dai Guo in Chinese, the "Five Generations Under One Roof Plant"), and clammy hop seeds into a vibrant flower arrangement, capturing the essence of happiness and the celebratory New Year atmosphere.
Operated by the Jing'an Happiness Station Volunteer Service Center, the Fudeli Park Citizen Garden Center officially opened in June 2024, integrating diverse functions such as the Party-mass service center, new-era civilization practice station, youth center, women's home, tourist service centers, and more. The Center not only introduces over 100 plant species but also features a horticultural experience area, regularly hosting horticultural lectures and workshops, providing citizens with a great place to get close to nature and enjoy the pleasures of horticulture.
The red color and public benefit are the distinct characteristics of the Center. Upon entering, citizens can see red books, red creative products, red decorations, and exhibits with red elements everywhere. Citizens can delve into understanding Jing'an's revolutionary culture here and also embark on a "Red City Heart Journey" from here. The Xingren Coffee set up in the Center advocates for spontaneous public benefit, encouraging patrons to show kindness by giving back while making a purchase.
As per the introduction, Xingren Coffee is the public-benefit coffee brand of the Happiness Station. Citizens and tourists who participate in volunteer activities for a minimum of 15 hours can exchange their time for a cup of coffee. The Center also irregularly hosts public benefit activities such as concerts, reading sharing, City Walk, music therapy, and more, sharing open space and resources to make it a platform that supports public benefit development.
This "Xingren" New Year Market will be held simultaneously at the Fudeli Park Citizen Garden Center and the Zhongxing Park Citizen Garden Center, both operated by the Happiness Station, and will feature multiple interactive experience activities.
