On March 1, the Jingan District "Strive in Jingan" weekend lectures and the specialized ability improvement training program for district economic officials commenced, along with the spring semester main class of the party school of the CPC Jing'an District Committee. Zhong Xiaoyong, Secretary of the CPC Jing'an District Committee, attended and delivered a mobilization speech. Other district leaders present included Zhai Lei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jing'an District Committee and District Mayor; Gu Yunhao, Director of the Standing Committee of Jing'an District People's Congress; Ding Baoding, Chairman of the CPPCC Jing'an District Committee, and Xu Jing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jing'an District Committee.  The main party and government leaders of various units in the district, as well as trainees from the 24th and 25th division-level official training classes, attended the opening ceremony.

Zhong Xiaoyong pointed out that offering weekend lectures is an essential step in implementing the gist of President Xi Jinping's important speeches, a necessary choice to adapt to changing situations, and a practical need to promote the development of Jingan. He emphasized that these specialized lectures should focus on the requirements of high-quality development and the needs of leading officials to perform their duties, invigorating and empowering the officials in Jing'an and further elevating their competency.

He also encouraged the officials to expand their international perspective, maintain a high level of sensitivity to the international competition landscape, the evolution of international rules, and changes in the international market, strengthen their learning and reflection, conduct timely research and planning, and strive to achieve the highest standards and best performance. Additionally, he called for the officials to enhance their strategic thinking, view and contemplate issues from a strategic perspective, skillfully identify patterns amidst complex contradictions, keenly observe trends and foresee the future, and strengthen their forward thinking and proactive planning to seize the strategic initiative. Furthermore, he highlighted the need to improve specialized capabilities, possess specialized knowledge and skills, effectively leverage professional methods and forces to address issues arising from innovative development, and become experts with exquisite skills.

He also encouraged the officials to remain diligent in learning and thinking, consider the requirements of the times and their practical work, and integrate thinking into the entire process of learning. He stressed that it is important to strive for extensive knowledge and ask probing questions, adhere to a problem-oriented approach, regard researching and solving major practical problems as the fundamental starting point of learning, find specific solutions to problems through learning, and actively resolve various conflicts and issues encountered in progress. He further emphasized the necessity of deep learning and steadfast practice, highlighting the importance of learning new perspectives to improve work styles, guide work, and promote development. He also pointed out that it is important to continuously promote principled and systematic work practices, improve forward thinking and creativity, enhance real skills through genuine efforts, and cultivate "hard skills" in overcoming difficulties and making breakthroughs.

After the opening ceremony, Professor Zhang Yina from Fudan University, who is also Director of the Big Data Laboratory of Consumer Market licensed by the Ministry of Commerce and Director of the Big Data Laboratory of Consumer Market (Shanghai), and Andrew Wu, CEO of Greater China of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, gave specialized lectures respectively on the topics of "Consumption Development Trends and Strategies to Promote Service Consumption" and "A Casual Discussion on the Evolution of Chinese Consumption After Meeting Basic Needs."

To help officials across the district enhance their international perspective, strategic thinking, and specialized ability, Jingan District has organized and implemented a specialized ability training program known as the "Strive in Jingan" initiative, which includes weekend lectures. Focusing on new scientific discoveries, technological inventions, and industrial trends, the program emphasizes industrial upgrades in commercial and trade services, professional services, and financial services, as well as emerging industry strategies such as data intelligence, cultural creativity, and biopharmaceuticals. It also covers new areas like blockchain and ultra-high-definition audio-visual technology. The goal is to improve officials' ability to communicate with scientists, entrepreneurs, and startup founders and provide strong support for Jingan to accelerate the construction of an excellent modern international city district and actively create a sample of a Chinese modern city district.
