On April 3, Zhong Xiaoyong, Secretary of the Jing'an District Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and Zhai Lei, Deputy Secretary and Mayor of Jing'an District, led a visit to the Danning Cosmetics Innovation Eco-space. They had discussions with the heads of such units and enterprises as Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Huashan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, Shanghai Skin Disease Hospital, L'Oreal Group, and Cathay Capital.
Zhong Xiaoyong noted that the cosmetics-focused fashion consumer goods industry is a key component of Shanghai's new industrial system. As a central district of Shanghai, Jing'an is home to numerous renowned domestic and international cosmetics brands and a wealth of skin health clinical resources. The Eco-space will further enhance resource integration across sectors, foster communication and cooperation between medical and business entities, and streamline processes for product R&D, clinical validation, achievement transformation, and industrialization, thereby creating a supportive innovation and transformation ecosystem for the cosmetics industry and contributing to high-quality regional economic development.
Zhong stated that Jing'an will strive to fully optimize the regional business environment and cultivate a favorable ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship by upgrading the overall space quality, enhancing policy support, and improving various supporting services. He urged local authorities and relevant departments to take proactive measures, form effective collaborations, and keep the project on track to ensure timely implementation and results.
According to sources, the Eco-space aims to become an international cosmetics industry cluster that brings together government, medical research institutions, and incubation companies. It seeks to establish an ecosystem that spans the entire chain from R&D to achievement transformation and market sales, attract and nurture innovative enterprises, and foster a beauty and wellness industry worth over 100 billion yuan.
