On April 30, Zhong Xiaoyong, Secretary of CPC Jing'an District Committee, and Zhai Lei, Deputy Secretary of the Committee and District Mayor, visited the Western Campus of Shanghai Daning International Elementary School for an on-the-spot inspection of the school's achievements in education and teaching reform.

They visited the school's featured teaching facilities, such as the learning space for comprehensive science courses and the traditional culture-themed space, to gain an overall understanding of its history, educational philosophy, scale, and faculty. At noon, the leaders joined teachers and students for lunch while communicating with them.

Zhong highly recognized the significant achievements of the school in course reform and talent cultivation. He noted that education is the cornerstone of people's livelihoods and has a profound impact on countless families. In recent years, Jing'an District has focused on its development goal of "International Jing'an: An Outstanding Urban Area" by continuously deepening comprehensive educational reform and promoting the ongoing improvement of education quality.

Regarding the future development of the school, Zhong outlined five requirements:

First, align with national talent cultivation goals to deepen course reform and innovation, forge a distinctive educational brand of Jing'an, and highlight the strengths of Jing'an education;

Second, promote the integration of artificial intelligence and education, expand diverse application scenarios, and contribute a "Jing'an solution" for cultivating innovative talent for the future;

Third, strengthen the construction of the teaching workforce, improve the talent development mechanism, attract and retain outstanding educational talent, and lay a solid foundation for high-quality educational development;

Fourth, leverage the advantages of group-based schooling to deepen international educational exchanges and cooperation and establish a model of internationalization for public elementary schools in Shanghai;

Fifth, strengthen campus safety measures, effectively ensure campus hygiene and food safety, and build a safe and harmonious environment for education.

Shanghai Daning International Elementary School is a public elementary school that upholds the philosophy of "In Daning International, Smiling Every Day" and pursues "international, artistic, and individual". The school aims to develop into a modern elementary school featured by low academic burdens, high efficiency, integration of various educational advantages, and an emphasis on cultivating patriotism while fostering global competency. In 2024, the school's OM (Odyssey of the Mind) team achieved outstanding success at the world finals, winning two championships: one in AI Tech-NO-Art and one in Rocking World Detour. This made the school the only one in China to attain a grand slam in OM projects.
