On June 17, the Standing Committee of the CPC Jing'an District Committee convened an enlarged meeting to study President Xi Jinping's important speech at the symposium to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Comrade Chen Yun's birth, as well as guiding principles from the meetings of central authorities and the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee. Zhong Xiaoyong, Secretary of the CPC Jing'an District Committee, chaired and addressed the meeting.

The meeting emphasized the need to honor Comrade Chen Yun's remarkable legacy and advance the revolutionary cause initiated by older generations. Comrade Chen Yun left indelible marks in Jing'an. We must uphold the CPC's founding spirit, preserve its revolutionary legacy, and advance high-quality development and modernization in the district.

We must draw inspiration from Comrade Chen Yun's noble spirit, better safeguard the ideological foundation of CPC members, and transform President Xi Jinping's important thoughts into concrete actions to strengthen convictions and guide our work. We must prioritize the people's interests, incorporate whole-process people's democracy into urban governance modernization, and leverage education to rigorously implement the eight-point decision on improving conduct and foster a clean political environment.

We must learn from Comrade Chen Yun's leadership expertise to enhance our ability to lead and advance modernization. We must elevate our political stance, benchmark against the highest standards, strengthen our global perspective and strategic vision, leverage the strengths of “International Jing'an”, steadfastly expand high-level opening-up, and remain at the forefront. Party members and officials must better shoulder the responsibilities of our era, strengthen the commitment to learning, persist in integrating learning with practice, and more effectively address the new challenges brought by change.

We must deeply grasp Comrade Chen Yun’s scientific thinking and working methods to integrate the principle of seeking truth from facts into all aspects of our work. In addition, we must accurately assess situations, plan for the future with a scientific approach, adeptly seize opportunities, and courageously tackle challenges, continuously enhancing the systematic, forward-looking, and innovative nature of our work. We must also improve the quality of investigation and research, better grasp the essence of issues, identify the crux of problems, and resolve development challenges. Acting as the team leader, we must prioritize action, strive for breakthroughs, and lead by example at each level to see every task through to completion.
