To foster widespread participation in anti-drug publicity and enhance drug prevention education for youth, Jing'an District held the award ceremony for the 1st "Jingyu Cup" Anti-Drug Essay Contest on June 23. Wang Xiang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jing'an District Committee and Secretary of the Politics and Law Committee, attended the ceremony.

The event was guided by the Shanghai Narcotics Control Office, hosted by the Politics and Law Committee of the CPC Jing'an District Committee, and co-organized by the Education Bureau of Jing'an District and Modern Family, a Shanghai-based magazine.

In April, Jing'an District announced the details of the 1st "Jingyu Cup" Anti-Drug Essay Contest, inviting anti-drug stories from the community. The review team, comprising experts from the Shanghai Narcotics Control Office, Shanghai Women's Federation, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and other organizations, evaluated the essays. After preliminary and re-evaluations, first, second, and third prizes were awarded in four categories: primary school, junior high school, senior high school, and adult. The winners were announced and honored at the ceremony.

The event awarded students who won first prize in the contest for the fall semester of the 2024 academic year. The winners shared their creative inspirations and launched an anti-drug initiative.

Judges from the Jing'an District People's Court performed an anti-drug rap titled "Are Drugs Really Far Away from You?" Meanwhile, anti-drug social workers in Jing'an District presented their original piece, "Three and a Half Phrases for Anti-Drug".

The event drew over 500 participants, including representatives from the Council of Shanghai Ziqiang Social Services, Education Bureau of Jing'an District, Jing'an District People's Court, Jing'an Public Security Sub-bureau, Jing'an District Center for Diseases Control and Prevention, various sub-districts and towns, police stations, as well as students, anti-drug social workers, and community volunteers.
