A vibrant National Day and Mid-autumn Festival celebration event named “Celebrate National Birthday with Full Moon” was recently held at the Party-mass Service Center of Jiangning Road Sub-district.

As the heartfelt finale to the September series of themed activities titled “Ablaze with Original Aspiration, Warm Service in Jiangning”, this event continued the guiding theme of “red” services and focused on the practical needs of the newly employed. Through diverse formats such as festive group meals, fun interactions, financial knowledge popularization, and cultural and artistic performances, the “urban knights” who usually rush through buildings and streets were invited to pause and experience the homelike warmth and festive atmosphere at the Party-mass Service Center.

Station reunion meal warms both the stomach and the heart

Starting at 11:30 a.m., the first floor of the center gradually came alive. Hot group meals were delivered on time, and the sanitation workers and delivery riders from Jiangning Road Sub-district’s sanitation stations and various courier and food delivery sites began to take their seats and enjoy a hearty lunch in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere.

The “Home of Hearts · Public Service Station” of the Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank’s Yuyao Road Branch—a partner in the Party-mass Service Center of Jiangning Road Sub-district’s cooperative Party-building effort—once again supported the festive care event. Alongside traditional mooncakes, the event featured a public benefit stand focused on financial literacy. It equipped the new employees with essential knowledge to prevent financial fraud, understand inclusive finance policies, and better manage their risks.

Laughter and warm wishes fill interactive zones

Several functional zones were specially set up on-site to enhance an immersive festive experience:

The festive photo zone with the backdrops of the moon and flowers attracted many delivery riders to take photos and record these special festive memories.

The lantern riddle zone displayed riddles integrating Party history, traditional culture, and safety knowledge. Enthusiastic participants solved the riddles while enjoying themselves and learning.

The wish and blessing zone provided postcards and stickers for everyone to write down heartfelt blessings for their families, the city, and the motherland—creating a “Wall of Blessings” covered with good wishes and blessings.

Representatives listen to the people’s voices, and democratic practice brings warmth to the grassroots

The relevant persons in charge from the Jiangning Road Sub-district and deputies to the Jing’an District People’s Congress visited the center and communicated with frontline workers such as couriers, delivery riders, and sanitation workers. They listened attentively to the practical challenges and development needs these workers had encountered in their work and daily lives, carefully recorded their opinions and suggestions regarding resting station arrangements, charging facilities, social security policies, and others, and answered some questions on the spot.

Amid the festive atmosphere, this democratic dialogue vividly exemplifies Jiangning Road Sub-district’s commitment to the concept of whole-process people’s democracy, allowing the newly employed to feel the warmth and strength of grassroots democracy.

Talk show ignites the scene, eases stress, and soothes hearts

After the group meal and interactive sessions, a light comedy talk show titled “Happy Mid-autumn” was brilliantly performed on the center’s small stage. Performers from the “Galaxy Stars Show” related humorous memes and warm interactions with the daily work and lives of the newly employed, eliciting rounds of applause and laughter. In this relaxed atmosphere, the riders fully unwound, feeling the joy and warmth of the festival.

From “passersby” to “family member”, the warm welcome for the newly employed continues

Zhang Biao, an activist of Party application from ZTO Express Jing’an Division II, said during the event, “They say that during festivals, homesickness grows stronger. Although we are strangers from across the country, here, when we gather together, everyone feels like one family! ——friendly and warm!” Courier Fu Wenguang shared, “Since last year’s Lantern Festival, we’ve been able to take part in themed activities at the center for every traditional festival. The sub-district also regularly provides us with comprehensive services. We all feel more and more at home in Jiangning.”

Paying attention to the newly employed and enhancing their sense of belonging and happiness are a vital part of the ongoing efforts made by the Party-mass Service Center of Jiangning Road Sub-district for building the “Home of Jing’an” service system. From the warm meals of the Spring Festival and the sweet glutinous rice balls of the Lantern Festival, to the fragrant green rice dumplings on the Tomb-sweeping Day, the mugwort-scented soaps of the Dragon Boat Festival, and now the reunion mooncakes of the Mid-autumn Festival, the center has consistently taken traditional festivals as an opportunity and the Party-mass hub as a bond to transform the newly employed from “runners in the city” into “companions in the community”.

Looking ahead, Jiangning Road Sub-district will continue to embody the spirit of “serving the people wholeheartedly” and expand the connotation of its services so that more urban contributors have a resting station and a warm harbor along their busy journeys, and that they can build together a well-governed and beautiful Jiangning community.
