In the golden season of October, amid the vibrant scene along Suzhou Creek, the milestone 20th season of LABELHOOD Pioneer Fashion & Arts Festival took place.
On October 11, the 20th season of LABELHOOD Pioneer Fashion & Arts Festival, a key incubator for Chinese design start-ups, kicked off at SUHE HAUS by the Suzhou Creek and OCT Suhe Creek. The event will last until October 16.
This season, LABELHOOD spotlights Suzhou Creek, presenting a vibrant lineup of runway shows, exhibitions, POP-UP, and LAB SHOWROOM. By seamlessly blending fashion, art, and everyday life, the event captures both intricate design details and the city’s cultural essence, showcasing a dynamic portrait of urban living.
Special Exhibition of the 20th Season of LABELHOOD: Dialogue and Evolution
Suzhou Creek meanders quietly through Shanghai, serving as a hidden artery of creativity that continually inspires and energizes the city. For a decade, LABELHOOD has served as a dynamic hub for China’s design and creative talent, driving the city’s vitality and witnessing its evolution.
Marking its 20th season, LABELHOOD collaborates with A Magazine Curated By for a two-part exhibition on a Culture of Convergence along Suzhou Creek. The event features “A Magazine Curated By: 25 Years of Curation and Creation” and “LABELHOOD: 20 Seasons of Culture in Community”, fostering a dialogue beyond time and region.
This exhibition marks a landmark collaboration between LABELHOOD and A Magazine Curated By, integrating Chinese and Western curatorial perspectives.
Focusing on dialogue, the exhibition presents exclusive works and inspirations from 24 Chinese designers, charting a distinctive creative journey. This represents a collective voice from China’s design community and a deep exchange with international curators.
On the second floor, celebrating the 25th anniversary of A Magazine Curated By, milestone editions and international designers’ works are showcased in Shanghai. The exhibition includes the first-ever public display of new creations by many international designers, which have not previously been exhibited in Paris.
Curated by A Magazine Curated By, the two-part exhibition creates an intercultural dialogue by connecting Chinese and international creative talent. Through this exchange of ideas, it contributes to the evolution of Shanghai’s creative scene.
LABELHOOD Live: Where Waves Grow
This season of LABELHOOD runway show transforms into a stage where design, fashion trends, and youth creativity converge.
Pioneering designer brands, including FORDARE, CAMEY LIU, OUDE WAAG, ZITA TAN, AO YES, YIRANTIAN, CELLO SONATA, JARALZHANG, MARKGONG, YAYI, and SHUSHU/TONG, showcase the emerging force and contemporary style of Chinese design.
The 2025 YOUTOPIA fashion unit finals, themed “NEW WAVE”, will take place at the LABELHOOD runway show. Douyin Fashion brings together young designers for a trend show, further advancing Chinese design. Industry dialogues and themed flash events will be held concurrently, witnessing the enduring new wave of Chinese design along Suzhou Creek.
As the season’s official travel partner, NIO’s high-end smart electric car brand Firefly collaborates with Cello Sonata to launch three co-branded car covers and display special models in the LABELHOOD Block, expanding urban travel possibilities through a fashion lens.
The LABELHOOD Block POP-UP expands the fashion scene with diverse lifestyles, creating creative spaces rooted in everyday life. International trendy lifestyle brand CASETiFY features art installations that blend bamboo and metal, offering an experiential space where nature and technology harmoniously coexist. Notable brands such as XIANG, a lifestyle brand, YanYan, known for thoughtfully designed oil lamps, FLOATING LEAVES, specializing in oriental teaware culture, and GENUINE, a brand focused on daily objects, incorporate signature elements to build immersive environments and capture moments of inspiration.
Through the 20 seasons spanning 10 years, LABELHOOD has traced a journey from the Yellow River to Suzhou Creek, embodying the growth and evolution of Chinese design along these rivers. At a new starting point, LABELHOOD gathers young creative talent and serves as a bridge that connects the East with the world. LABELHOOD will continue to inspire more diverse waves of creativity in urban fashion, amplifying the influence of Chinese design on the global stage.
