The aroma of beer mingles with digital light and shadow, as classic melodies encounter AI-powered vocals. On the evening of October 13, the 13th Shibei Beer Festival Carnival Opening Ceremony and Appreciation Event for Outstanding Enterprises kicked off with fanfare at the Yunhui Digital and Intelligence Center, Jing’an International Science and Technology Innovation Community, under the theme “Celebrate the Beauty of Jing’an at the Shibei Gathering”. This annual event honors outstanding enterprises over a beer amid an everyday and relaxed atmosphere, shaping Jing’an’s digital future and ushering in a new, pleasant model of deep integration between technology and life.

The attendees, totaling nearly 300, included Zhai Lei, Deputy Secretary of the Jing’an District Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and District Mayor; Gu Yunhao, Director of the Standing Committee of Jing’an District People’s Congress and Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group; Mei Guangqing, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jing’an District Committee and Deputy District Mayor; Gu Dingyun, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jing’an District Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department; Song Dajie, Vice Chairman the Jing’an District Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group; Wang Jianming, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce; Xie Wenlan, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality; Zhang Xiping, President of Shanghai Industrial Internet Association; Xu Hui, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions; Wei Hao, Chief of the Law Enforcement Corps of the Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation; and Zhang Yi, Second-level Inspector of the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, as well as relevant persons in charge of various commissions, offices, bureaus, sub-districts, and towns in Jing’an District, the leadership team of Shibei High-tech Group, and outstanding entrepreneur representatives from the park. They gathered to celebrate the scientific achievements and the promising future of this dynamic region.

Zhai Lei presented the “Special Contribution Award for Stable Growth” to Casco Signal Ltd., Kaililong (Shanghai) Software Information Technology Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Big Data Co., Ltd. on behalf of the park.

Mei Guangqing addressed the event. He noted that Shanghai Shibei Hi-tech Park is a key platform for the Jing’an District in serving Shanghai’s urban digital transformation. The park now hosts over 800 data and intelligence enterprises—up more than 150% since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Enterprises in cloud computing, blockchain, and artificial intelligence have each formed a 100-member-level cluster; the number of high-tech enterprises and “little giant” high-tech enterprises grows annually by double digits, with sci-tech enterprises accounting for more than 70%. In 2024, the park’s total revenue reaches RMB 260 billion, and by 2025, revenue is expected to increase by over 30% compared to the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan period. The park’s economic density has reached new heights, its digital sector has continued to lead, emerging industries have accelerated their growth, capital vitality has surged, and the business environment has been continuously improving—these have vividly reflected Jing’an’s efforts to drive technological innovation and build a modern industrial system.

Awards were presented to the “Top 50 Enterprises in Park Economic Contribution” for the 2024–2025 period at the event. The award ceremony featured interactive performances, including a virtual rendition of Teresa Teng by Digital Domain Holdings Limited and an LED flag dance, blending technology with art to honor every enterprise supporting Shibei’s high-quality development.

This year’s Beer Festival has welcomed a new group of park members. Emerging enterprises such as Xida, Jinbaoxin, Zaitu, Eraergy, Farben, Gene Automation, Xinzhi Embodied Intelligence, Zhixing Hongyu, Dianzhuang Digital Technology, and Hongxin Pharmaceutical were awarded the “Shibei Household Register” to join the Shibei innovation ecosystem and partner in building a new hub for the digital economy.

The Ximalaya sound-based Shibei interactive promotion sparked a new wave of excitement. The on-site launch of the audio large model “Zhufeng AI” used AI audio technology that resonated emotionally, enabling AI characters to express multiple emotions based on different contexts. This has brought the joy and laughter of the Beer Festival from the offline event to the cloud.

The Beer Festival, which will run until October 21, offers a park-wide celebration combining food, music, and technology. It will showcase the park’s concept of technology empowering daily life and highlight the integration of the digital economy with urban living.

During the festival, three main themed activities will be held:

● The “Gudundun × Universal Gravitation Field” Special on Digital Connectivity Blockchain Valley (October 14) will include an explanation of the “approval exemption and instant benefits” policy and collective enterprise settlement.

● The “Audiovisual Quiet Realm · Meta Space” inauguration ceremony (October 16) will witness expert appointments and the establishment of a think tank, the launch of an industry collaboration hub, and the unveiling of the “Financial Ecosystem Resonance Plan”, along with a roundtable discussion featuring leading figures on the forefront of the ultra-high-definition audiovisual industry.

● The Special on Digitization and Intelligence (October 17) will offer a range of immersive interactive experiences, including human-machine dance battles, human-machine dialogues, and VR shooting games.

In addition, more than a dozen special activities—including blockchain scenario experiences, a digital and intelligent cultural creative market, and meta space showcases—will run throughout the festival, further igniting Jing’an’s night economy.

From “black chimneys” to “a cloud park”, and from an industrial declining area to a thriving digital hub, the Shanghai Shibei Hi-tech Park is using the Beer Festival as an opportunity to showcase to the world a warmer, more dynamic, and imaginative innovation-driven industrial community. Looking ahead, the Shanghai Shibei Hi-tech Park will strive to build an urban digital economy demonstration park, aligning with the trend of “technology returning to the city”. It will firmly prioritize “high-quality development” and accelerate its strides toward becoming a “national hub for innovation and entrepreneurship” and a “renowned tech industry park”.
