By the Suzhou Creek in early winter, breezes rippled the water's surface. On November 22, a hanfu citywalk organized by the Beiwu Yanghua Han Dance Troupe took place along the left bank of the creek. Dozens of hanfu enthusiasts, adorned in traditional attire, strolled along the Suzhou Creek trail, creating a picturesque scene in early winter.

The procession included young girls gently waving fans, elders with wide sleeves, and children in short jackets and double buns skipping through the crowd. Their embroidered garments shimmered in the afternoon sun, and their skirts swayed like clouds in the breeze.

The group paused to admire historic landmarks, including the former site of the Bank of China in Shanghai, Jardine Packing Factory, and the Shenyuli Lane building complex. Some traced the patterns on the walls of Shikumen architecture, while others leaned on the Zhejiang Road Bridge to enjoy the river view.

The elegance of hanfu complemented the weathered charm of century-old architecture, unfolding like a timeless scroll. Passersby captured the scene on their phones—modern visitors in ancient attire exploring historic sites, where tradition and contemporary life seamlessly merge.

This activity, a key event in "Artistic Suzhou Creek 2025", aligned with "Hanfu Travel Day", immersed participants wearing traditional attire in China's millennia-old cultural heritage through the citywalk and visits, and showed the Beizhan Sub-district's rich history.

"We aim to bring hanfu from the stage to daily life and history from books to reality," said the head of Beiwu Yanghua Han Dance Troupe. At that moment, the Suzhou Creek was no longer a silent bystander, but a participant in this dialogue across time. Hanfu, too, transcended its role as a museum exhibit and became a flowing verse that carries culture and warms the hearts of Shanghai residents.
